Who needs Amazon when the American Family Association has plenty of treats on offer to fill the Christmas stocking?

They’re Coming To Your Town

Residents of the small Arkansas town of Eureka Springs noticed the homosexual community was growing. But they felt no threat. They went about their business as usual. Then, one day, they woke up to discover that their beloved Eureka Springs, a community which was known far and wide as a center for Christian entertainment–had changed. The City Council had been taken over by a small group of homosexual activists. The Eureka Springs they knew is gone. It is now a national hub for homosexuals. Eureka Springs is becoming the San Francisco of Arkansas.

. . . .

SQUANTO and the Miracle of Thanksgiving

This entertaining and historical story shows that the actual hero of Thanksgiving was neither white nor Indian, but God. In 1608, English traders came to Massachusetts and captured a 12-year old Indian, Squanto, and sold him into slavery. He was raised by Christians and taught faith in God. Ten years later he was sent home to America. Upon arrival, he learned an epidemic had wiped out his entire village. But God had plans for Squanto. God delivered a Thanksgiving miracle: an English-speaking Indian living in the exact place where the Pilgrims land in a strange new world.

Is that Squanto image giving you funny feelings in your special area? Why not head on over to the Focus On The Family bookstore and “dance away teh gay” with Dance Praise 2:

Pop the software in your or PC or MAC, plug in the pad, follow the arrows, and step to the beat with this dancing game. Over 50 songs from top Christian artists provide hours of family-friendly dance fun, and an exercise mode even counts calories! Also includes onscreen lyrics, customizable play lists, visuals, and a fast-action arcade-style game.

If you have a taste for hard science, they have Ben Stein’s Expelled:

Big science has expelled smart new ideas from the classroom. What they forgot is that every generation has a rebel like Ben Stein! In this often-funny, often-troubling DVD, Ben travels the world on his quest and learns that educators and scientists are being ridiculed, denied tenure and even fired for the “crime” of believing that there is evidence of design in nature and that perhaps life is not just the result of accidental, random chance. To which Ben says: “Enough!” and then gets busy. NOBODY messes with Ben!

That one’s located in the section of their online bookstore titled “Developing a Biblical Worldview” . . . just to put to bed any crazy notions about Intelligent Design creationism having anything to do with religion.

And just to put to bed any misapprehensions you may have about the Christian Right being given to hysterics and persecution mania:

In a world where Christianity is outlawed and sharing your faith could get you killed, Patch Johnson and his friends must face the decision to live for Christ every single day. The third and final volume of the “Renegade Spirit” series, will leave teens with a fresh perspective on what it means to be a committed follower of Christ.

Jerry B. Jenkins, that purveyor of Christian snuff porn, I hear you ask? The same.

The picture is not a personal attack on you and your family; and if you choose to interpret it as such, that is your problem, not mine.

In the meantime, unless you happen to be dwelling in Orissa, allow me to laugh heartily at the suggestion that you and your family are subjected to violence or anything analogous to violence for your beliefs.

I did not feel like it was a personal attack on me and my family. It just caught my attention, I did not what to say, it just schocked me that we can be so hated. My Dad died because of that hate, he just died in aug. Sorry if I came off rude, it was not my intent. I will leave, but as I do be blessed.

(BTW, please direct any further remarks about the design of this blog to the “About Five Public Opinions” page. I have a low tolerance for off-topic comments, and your humourless whining about what I think is a clever parody of Christian (well, at least Catholic) teachings on consuming the body and blood of Christ, is certainly off-topic in this thread. Thanks.)

Ooh, teh gays are coming, could be worse, could be teh atheists are coming to town, TIC

60% Christians in Australia and New Zealand, 85% in America and they feel they are being silenced and persecuted? It’s me that’s speechless, with incredulity at their gall.

Is that the same women’s gyms that are all over the place? Are they Christian backed?
